So I'm back from my blog hiatus...see, I told you I'd be back ;) I've just been really busy editing so many of the awesome weddings over the last 5 weeks and also working on my new and improved web presence via my website and blog...yes, Behind the Camera is getting overhauled. For those that actually like it around here it will still be a pleasant, organized experience with some other killer stuff thrown in!
Kim's portraits have been done for some time but she didn't want her fiance sneaking a peek since he follows Behind the Camera pretty closely. But now that they are married it's all good! Her light hearted spirit is infectious and it was fun capturing that before the rain started coming down.
ragan
You might remember Ragan from her engagement shoot with her fiance Kris. She's been hitting the gym and she was looking gorgeous in her beautiful dress and stylin' hair! We talked about creating an "earthy" look so we headed out to a Japanese garden for some Kung-Fu photography :)
Ragan has the best of friends...one of her bridesmaids came along on the shoot and got down on her hands and knees and LET ME STAND ON TOP OF HER in order to get this first shot! Is that committed friendship or what?! Ragan ties the knot in that beautiful dress on May 19th.
butterflies
I wanted to do a conceptual shoot designed around an ironic theme I'm titling "Butterflies." Luggage, motel room...bride on the run-it goes against traditional bridal portrait sessions but yet a reality many face...that's why I like it.
In fact, this is indeed this bride's story. Although not exactly attaining "runaway bride" status, she was engaged to be married earlier this year. She seemed to be the perfect fit for the story I wanted to tell.
