jean + jane
This past weekend I got to second shoot Jean & Jane's wedding with Jessica Claire out in southern California. We had a blast and the reception was held in this little open courtyard surrounded by the catering venue.
Valentino shoes were a nice touch to her beautiful dress...

For some reason I love the simplicity of this portrait of Jean's dad.
As she strolls out of the church, Jane's ecstatic.

Their MC created a pretty cool grand entrance.

The advice tree.

First dance...

Believe it or not, the maid of honor's speech included recounts of flatulence. Great moment nonetheless ;)

I'm ending with this advice tree note because it made me laugh-alot. Not only is Walter late, but he misspells Jean's name and wishes them the proverbial "great summer". Classic.

If you've been living under a rock for the past 6 months then maybe you haven't heard that Jess has launched Shootsac, a line of camera bags with the wedding photographer in mind. Necessity is the mother of all invention. Jessica shoots fast and light and this bag is designed to help you do just that. They're stylish and functional, as you can see the bag in action.
They'll be shipping after May 15th but you can read more about them here and here .
rockin' the golden state
If you visit California, make sure Shyla is your host.
Exibit A: I get picked up in a Mercedes-Benz convertible...and folks, this is truly the best way to experince the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway)!

Exhibit B: After getting picked up from LAX, it was off to In-N-Out Burger to grab the quintessential greasy/cheap Californian burger & fries experience...and it was tasty!
Dinner with Orange County photographer Jasmine Star, her husband J.D. and Shy. The Persian food was delicious but the conversation even tastier! I loved getting to know J.D. & Jazzy, awesome people!
I had chance to model for Shyla down at Laguna Beach...she made me look good eh? She humored me and the images are developed Sunny SoCal style ;-)
I turned the camera around on her and you can see my work in the previous ASPIRE post.
Last is a photobooth shot of Marisa, Jess, Shy and me at Marisa's sweet oceanside house. This house came right out of Martha Stewart Living, the house was wicked cool. Apparently Jess and I were the only ones trying not to look "cool".

I also second shot a wedding with Jessica on Saturday, one of the most talented wedding photographers in California in my humble opinion...stay tuned for images from Jean & Jane's wedding.
My home is in Texas but now my heart is in Southern California...the blue skies, the ocean air and the PCH have swept me off my feet.ASPIRE.
My new ASPIRE. campaign is gearing up for 2008's seniors...my friend Shy modeled for me on Laguna Beach while I was out in SoCal. There is sooooo much more that will be rolling out later this year including a digital catalogue, a new seniors only website and other exciting products [original Fred Egan artwork graphic T's?].
Aspire. Fred Egan.
Once again, a huge thanks to the Boutwells for enabling me to bring my vision to life in my work using their Totally Rad Actions!
osp | DALLAS
A little OSP get together went down in Dallas this past weekend. I got to model and learn some cool stuff about off-camera flash...here's some of the work! Huge thanks to Shan Renee from Lubbock for getting OSP Dallas together and creating some portraits of me.
misfits
The Misfits met last Thursday for another meet n' greet at the California Pizza Kitchen since we had alot of new faces. We're all a part of The Crazies Forum, so if you're interested in seeing what we're all about then just sign up and chat it up with us!
earth day
I hope everyone got a laugh out of Will Ferrell on Wednesday...man, that guy is just funny. When addressing difficult issues, such as global warming, I believe never taking yourself too seriously is a good policy.
In lieu of Earth Day, watching An Inconvenient Truth was only fitting...in fact most of the programming I came across this weekend was "green." Now, I'm no treehugger but An Inconvenient Truth got me thinking about the stewardship God entrusted man with since his commission in the Garden of Eden. From the looks of things, we aren't doing so well...and the "Christian" nation of America is contributing the MOST harm!
After watching Friday's Oprah (yes, I occasionally watch Oprah), I decided to start implementing some small things around the house in order to do my part in conserving our resources...and actually, many of these I've already been doing for years.
*Using the ceiling fan more often in order to conserve electricity.*Washing my clothes in cold water
*Cleaning the lint out of my dryer before every load so that it operates at maximum efficiency
*Taking shorter showers
*Not letting the faucet run during my shave
*Using more energy efficient light bulbs
*Turning lights off when I leave each room
*Driving a newer car with lower emissions
Now we all have our priorities. Oprah drew the line at a low pressure showerhead...that was her non-negotiable, she just wouldn't do it. Fair enough. After all, my non-negotiable is my car. A couple of you suggested a Prius for my new ride...but that's just not me. Up until recently, automakers couldn't design a hybrid without it screaming "I'm driving a hybrid car!" The designs were just horrible. But what I am doing is buying a SUV that is putting out lower emissions than the 1991 Explorer I'm driving now...any little bit helps. Anyways, try to do one thing that will help us as a whole be better stewards of our earth.
a new ride-you decide!
Hello loyal Behind the Camera readers! It's time for a new car and I NEED your opinion. I currently drive a 1991 Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer and its on its last leg. So this time around I'm trying to make a decision around my branding. I left a spot for "other" in case any of you guys have a better idea-just let me know :) I'm an SUV guy as you can see, so keep that in mind. Choose wisely, my car driving fate could be in your hands!
Check out Lauren Clark's dream brand car!
