December's photograph of the month was actually shot with my Canon Powershot G7 while on vacation. A group of friends and I were making our way to Breckenridge, CO and had to pull over to get gas. This old man pulls up beside us with an old Pontiac on a trailer. I whipped my G7 out and captured this shot. I love the textures in this one.

'Tis the season for Christmas music...and without fail, almost every recording artist under the sun puts their own spin on the proverbial "Silent Night" or "Do You Hear What I Hear" in pursuit of the almighty dollar. In most cases these "special" Christmas albums are mediocre at best.

With that being said, one would think that "good Christmas music" would be an oxymoron. To the contrary my friends. It just means you haven't gotten your hands on Andrew Peterson and Sufjan Stevens' Christmas albums. Original songs laced with a myriad of instruments make both of these albums a must listen this holiday season.

...one would think that "good Christmas music" would be an oxymoron.

Peterson's Behold the Lamb of God: the True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ is hands down the best Christmas Album I've ever heard. His ability to convey a story in 4 minutes is second to none while his artistic tapestry is beautifully stunning. Peterson takes you by the hand through the events leading up to the birth of Christ, events spanning the whole Bible-every song arranged in a meticulous matter.

Sufjan Stevens' Songs for Christmas is a actually a box set of EPs containing Christmas songs dating back to 2001 until present day. Every year Stevens would write and record an album of original songs and holiday staples as a gift for family and friends. This is sure to be enjoyed by all who appreciate original music inspired by Christmas.

Highschool sweethearts and soon to be Baylor alum, Michael finally asked Kim to spend the rest of her life with him. We stuck around lower Greenville in Dallas for their e-session. Shooting with Kim was a good time cause she couldn't stop smiling! They're set to tie the knot June 16, 2007.

Ok, not exactly-but at least of photographers like myself. Saturday mornings and Krispy Kreme doughnut holes go together as well as [ enter your own witty comaparison here ]. I prefer to eat them until sick in the stomach...29 to be exact. I just wanted to show off a couple snaps from my new Canon G7-pretty delicious I think. I can shoot at f/2.8 with it to create a decent bokeh. I love that it can shoot widescreen shots and the video feature is super fun-more on that later!

Kyle and Megan hail from Tyler, TX (east Texas) where I spent a summer 6 years ago as a counselor at Pine Cove Christian Camp for kids. I like it out there, the trees are beautifully green and tall. They were in Fort Worth for the weekend so we took a little stroll around downtown Fort Worth for their e-session. It was fun getting to know them and they did great in front of the camera. They'll be tying the knot March 24, 2007.
